Yarrabilba is a rapidly growing master-planned suburb located in the City of Logan, Queensland, approximately 40 kilometers south of Brisbane CBD and within reach of the Gold Coast. Its name, meaning “place of song” in the language of the Wangerriburra people of the Yugambeh group, reflects the area’s Indigenous heritage before European settlement. Once a largely rural region, Yarrabilba has transformed into a modern residential community designed to accommodate up to 50,000 residents across 17,000–20,000 homes. 

The suburb emphasizes family-friendly living, with over 25% of its land dedicated to parks, bushland reserves, and walking and biking trails, including major recreational areas such as Darlington Parklands. Yarrabilba offers a variety of modern housing options, from detached homes to townhouses, attracting young families and first-home buyers. The community also includes schools like Yarrabilba State School, Yarrabilba State Secondary College, St Clare’s Catholic Primary, and San Damiano College, with more planned as the population grows, alongside childcare centers and early learning facilities. 

Retail and commercial amenities are expanding, with Yarrabilba Village providing supermarkets, cafes, medical services, and specialty shops, and additional shopping precincts planned for future phases. While the suburb has good road access via Waterford-Tamborine Road and nearby connections to Logan and Pacific Motorways, public transport is still developing, making the area somewhat car-dependent.
